I agree that "Mary Had a Little Lamb" is destined to be a Christmas classic. Being an elementary school teacher, I can say that children love a story told in rhyme. This story also touches my heart as an adult and parent. The last two pages which encourage all to be good shepherds, wise men, and ministers of God is so inspiring. The last sentence "And if you listen with your heart, God will speak to you!!" is a perfect ending and a phrase that I will remember. A story told in rhyme, bright beautiful illustrations, an inspirational message for all --- this book has all the elements of a winner!!
There are many Christmas books available for readers, but this one is so special. Susan Panzica has written a beautifully illustrated re-telling of the Christmas story for children. She also includes some facts at the end that will appeal to adult readers.
If you're looking for a book to read your kids during the Christmas season, grab this one. Susan's daughter and son enjoyed her poem as children. Now, your little ones can as well.

This is definitely a book that will be enjoyed by both young and old. I can see a parent or grandparent, with children snuggled around them, reading and re-reading this book over and over again. Not only at Christmas and Easter, but all year long this book sends a message to children about who Jesus is and what He did for us with His birth, death, and resurrection. I love the last line of the book, "God will speak to you!" ...showing kids that God loves and cares for them today and has a plan for their lives. I also like that this book is a bit longer than a "typical" children's book. This will give you more time to read, hold your child, and discuss the book throughout.
The pictures are lovely and there will be something new to see with each turned page. The drawings have a vibrancy and a peacefulness upon them that is wonderful to see.

Outstanding reference work on talking points to use with your children. Finally, the truth about Mary's little lamb. In fact, I'd go on a limb to say it's the greatest truth ever told, in its simplest form. A must buy.
I'm such a big fan of Zach and amazing art work
This is such a beautiful way to tell the timeless story of God's love for us! Children will love the bright and simple illustrations and the cute sing songy story! The illustrations remind me of gorgeous church stained glass windows!
Parents (and grandparents) will love the talking points at the end to help answer questions about what God says!

Wonderfully written. Beautiful message about Jesus' birth and His saving power! This is a book to enjoy at Christmas and all year round. Love the parent's guide and myth busters in the back to help guide discussions and ask good questions! This book is truly a gem.
